Il 26 Aprile 1998 muore Douglas Springsteen, papà di Bruce. Da fans, lo avevamo conosciuto attraverso molte canzoni di Springsteen ispirate a lui (su tutte, “Independence Day”, “My Father’s House” e “Walk Like a Man”) e al loro rapporto sofferto, trapelato prima da alcuni monologhi giovanili, poi rivelato, negli ultimi tempi, in tutta la sua complessità attraverso le pagine della sua autobiografia Born to Run e lo spettacolo teatrale “Springsteen on Broadway” dello scorso anno. In fact, if this period of necessary isolation is hard for all of us, we must not forget those who experience this condition in an even more difficult and dramatic way: children and adolescents hospitalized with serious pathologies – oppressed by feelings of loneliness and bewilderment in their already dramatic daily lives – find themselves supporting a condition further aggravated by the restrictions of social distancing which also deprives them of their families and the warmth of a hug.
