Il live del mese: PARIS 2012/07/4 e 2102/07/5

Sono due i live ripubblicati dagli Springsteen Archives questo mese di luglio e corrispondono alle due serate del 4 e del 5 luglio al Bercy di Parigi di Bruce e la E Street Band, durante il leg europeo del Wrecking Ball tour del 2012. Dopo una pausa di dieci giorni, Bruce ritorna sul palco e dà luogo a una doppietta considerata tra le più belle performance del tour. Anche l’ingresso della band sul palco, tra le note di “La Vie en rose” suonata dal duo di fisarmoniche Roy e Charlie, resta tra i più suggestivi. La prima sera, Bruce include in setlist 3 brani che celebrano il 4 luglio: “4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)” (premiere in Francia e cantata con il verso originale di “waitress”), “Darlington County” e “Independence Day”, solo al pianoforte. Premiere in Francia anche per “The E Street Shuffle” e “We Are Alive”, così come “Easy Money” fa il suo debutto europeo, sostituendo “Shackled And Drawn”. “My City Of Ruins” include “People Get Ready”, oltre a un frammento di “Sad Mood”. Bruce torna a cantare “get on board” piuttosto che “thank the Lord” alla fine di “Land Of Hope And Dreams”, come sarà per tutto il resto del tour. Con il divertimento di “American Land” si chiude la prima strepitosa serata.

La seconda notte vede Bruce cambiare radicalmente la scaletta e inserire ben 15 canzoni diverse rispetto alla prima notte, inclusa una mitragliata di sei classici (incluso il secondo “Something In The Night” del tour) in apertura di show. Vengono anche eseguite due epiche versioni di “Incident On 57th Street” e di “Racing In The Street” di 11 minuti (l’ultima volta che entrambe le canzoni erano state suonate in uno spettacolo della E Street risaliva al 1978). Nel set è presente anche la splendida tour premiere di “For You”, suonata da solista al pianoforte.

Sono dunque ora disponibili i CD e i download ad alta risoluzione di entrambe le notti di Parigi 2012. Questi spettacoli saranno infine trasmessi in streaming anche su nugs.net, unendosi al “Freehold Drop” recentemente aggiunto e al previsto lancio dell’intera serie Live Bruce Springsteen Archive sul servizio di streaming di musica dal vivo.
